“Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Emily Smith has amassed more than 20 years of experience in business management and finance, leadership, sales procedures, and training and coaching team members.
Emily began her professional career with Emler Swim School in 2016 and is currently Director of Operations, managing six locations in Houston and one in Vegas. However, Emily was no stranger to Emler pools and to the way we teach. She taught at Emler’s former location in Arlington while in high school in the mid-1990’s. Before rejoining the Emler team, Emily spent many years in the restaurant industry, leaving as a General Manager of Texas Land & Cattle, and she spent several years as a training manager and professional development coordinator for educators across the US.
Emily graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism.
“I enjoy the people piece of my job the most,” Emily said. “It’s all about relationships, and I love working with our families and their swimmers. It is so rewarding to give a young swimmer the skills and confidence they need to not only enjoy the water but to be safe in it.”
In her free time, Emily enjoys powerlifting, quilting, and playing with her English bulldog Loretta Lynn. She also likes to read and enjoys cooking with new or unique ingredients. “I’m the crazy one who buys a whole fish having no idea how to cook it,” she said, “but I’ll always figure it out!”
